Practice Profile
Florida Veterinary Hospital is a small animal hospital fully accredited with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC). We deal with all aspects of veterinary health care for pets of all shapes and sizes. Our patients are primarily dogs and cats, but we also deal with birds, rabbits, hamsters and a number of other more exotic pets such as marmosets and fish.
Dr Lee has an interest in marmosets and other monkeys, while Dr Elshove is interested in fish of all types, especially koi and goldfish – he has been a fish keeper for many years and is closely associated with the South African Koi Keepers Society (SAKKS) and has a good understanding of filtration, water chemistry, husbandry as well as fish diseases and medication.
Our vets and nurses are registered with the SAVC and some are even registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RVCS) in the UK having worked extensively in that country.
The vets are members of the South African Veterinary Association (SAVA) and the National Clinicians Group (Johannesburg). These organisations oversee the Continuing Education (CE) program which ensures our vets stay up-to-date.
The practice is fully computerised, with modern equipment assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of animal ailments.
